OVHcloud, a premier web hosting provider, is celebrated for its powerful and scalable hosting solutions. Their dedicated server offerings are exceptional, enabling users to handle high traffic and complex applications effortlessly, while their VPS plans offer flexibility and customization, making them an ideal choice for users across all levels of technical expertise.
The easy truth is, all the other hosting providers you see in this very site do not own any of their hardware (mostly), they depend on providers like OVH to do this. Why am I saying this? Because I don't get why OVH is rated this low. It's not a bad hosting company at all, no, rather they are the gods of all other hosting companies if you think about it (not all, but a DECENT bunch) So please don't get deceived by these reviews from unprofessional people. OVH has a large variety of products and their specialization is with dedicated servers, but I was using their shared hosting and despite the low focus, it still works better and is way budget friendly compared to many providers. If you are someone that actually can use their brain and doesn't need support for every little issue... this company is perfect.
I'm wondering how much they pay you to write this review.
When you don't notice the problems they have then your demands are just way to low to experience this.
Can you tell me if it's normal and professional that every day my server gets disconnected from the network, resulting in package loss which results in my clients getting disconnected. OVH now just turned of the monitoring to ignore the issues.
So when you label this at 'the only true hosting provider' i'm worried about your professionalism.
No suitable words can describe their horrible service and rude support
I encountered error to reinstall OS with the only tool they provide to reinstall OS, so I contacted them for help. They changed my server's raid settings, and wiped all my data without my permission and replied me I deserve for data lost because I did not backup my data. I told them the backup was in the third hardisk that was wiped by them, and asked them to fix the OS installation error so that I can reinstall OS. Since then, they keep resending me the steps to setup raid which is irrelevant, and told me they do not provide managed service, put me in a epic nightmare. I cursed them because I'm mad and requested email address of their management to file a complaint, they denied it and get a person with title "Customer Service Supervisor" come to my support ticket and threatening will close my account. They're a big bully that you should avoid in all cost, unless you're dreaming that you will never have any issues with that bully.
Support is rude and doesn't know what they are talking about - stay away!
I had IP issues and tried to explain GEO -> IP and politely requested another IP that wouldn't cause me to lose my gmail account and the rep blew up in my face with pseudo facts on geolocation. He was quite rude, pretty much telling me that I had no idea what I was talking about. 10 years of backend geolocation coding would disagree. I would never use them again since there are much better alternatives out there. Even if they had been right the was no need for that rudeness. If you want to use them and don't need support go for it. I didn't have issues with the servers for the 2 days that I used them. Only issues was support and then that they do not have auto billing.
There are some bad experience with ovh:Some month ago I bought a dedicated server on So You Start (OVH) with xenserver. I work for a lot of month with them, but the last day, only a few days after paying the month, the OVH system detects a small ddos attack (1 mbps) start from my server, probably from a windows VM, and OVH block immediatly the server. I tried to explain that no one caused the attack and the VM was new and with antivirus. Nothing. I lost the money for the new month, for the IP of failover and also the work of these months that means that I have basically wasted money also in previous months.Other thing: the last month, always with the same server, I received a ddos attack from outside and xenserver has rebooted. And the super ddos protection? The OVH system merely send me an email saying that there was an attack ddos and that has been blocked. I asked from ticket why the ddos protection has not done its job and my server is however restarted forcing shutdown of the VM. The support team asked me to send an email to an internal group, but I never received an answer.Well presented with good products at low cost and many services, but they are criminals. Once you have paid do not care about you and try to steal more money.
This is the worst company I ever dealt with STAY AWAY!!!
This service is horrible. The customer service is horrible and the company is completely on organized. They will bill you for time you never used. This is the worst experience with a company I have ever had. Its not worth the trouble. Go somewhere else!!!
The OVH it's a bad hoting so i ask everone to avoid to deal with it. for exemple to delete database you have to wait 12 hour.to edit your DNS you have also to wait 24 hour.the Database size it's too limit alos hard disk space.Support did not know what do you tlking about, ba if the answer you.Website speed too slow.Cpanel To old and limited.PLease avoid to deal with them.
tried signing up 4 VPS svc, crashed repeatedly - moved on
I tried to register and purchase VPS service for company. Crashed over and over, stuck on "edit names" and assigning groups every time, then straight to error 500 without any success. Time to find a better service and signed up for Digital Ocean within a minute
After looking for a less expensive alternative to my previous VPS hosting provider, i decided to give OVH a try. Signing up took a little extra time. For some reason i was unable to use my regular bank card with visa on OVH. So i had to go the Paypal method which takes quite a few hours to authorize on OVH.
Once i was set up and running i found everything to be quite easy and very smooth. I setup what i needed to and just let the VPS slip to the back of my mind. A day or so later and i started to notice some very heavy lag spikes to my services hosted on the vps. After trying to lock down the cause, and many many bad words later, i realized the IP was getting hit from every direction looking for ways in and such. I then realize i needed to enable and configure the firewall via the OVH control panel. Denied all connections first and then filtered down to just what i needed. In about 10 minutes or so everything seemed to go back to normal, and so far so good.
So make sure if you do sign up with OVH to get your security down up front before you start being attacked endlessly. The auth.log was rather full of failed connections. I also disabled the ubuntu root user, which OVH enables by default. Most other providers leave ubuntu more standard, and have full firewall enabled all by default. OVH just gives you a full access root ubuntu install and lets it loose.
OVHCloud is an affordable hosting provider offering generous features and resources. However, it might not be the best value for the money due to its extensive learning curve and lack of customer support.
Does OVHCloud offer a money-back guarantee?
No, this hosting provider doesn’t offer a money-back guarantee.
